PANSKURA MUNICIPALITY was established in 2002 behind its birth there are heart content of many respected persons. Though there are many difficulties and obstacles in the development sector of our municipality we will try to build it beautiful and accessible to each and every people of the municipality. Panskura Municipality is a dynamic and rapidly developing urban center located in the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal, India. With its rich agricultural backdrop, growing economy, and vibrant community, Panskura has evolved as an important town in the region. Situated in the southeastern part of West Bengal, Panskura serves as a key junction for both agricultural and commercial activities, acting as a bridge between rural and urban spaces.

Panskura is strategically situated on the banks of the Kangsabati River, approximately 26 km from Tamluk (the district headquarters) and about 80 km from Kolkata. It lies along the important National Highway 6 (now part of NH16) and is served by the Panskura Railway Station, a major junction on the South Eastern Railway network, offering excellent rail connectivity to Howrah, Kharagpur, and beyond.

Panskura is also recognized as an educational hub in the region. Panskura Banamali College, affiliated with Vidyasagar University, offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in arts, science, and commerce and is a center of higher education for students from across the district.
The municipality is also home to several government and private schools providing quality primary and secondary education, fostering a culture of learning and academic excellence.

Panskura is widely known for its floriculture and vegetable cultivation, which form the backbone of its rural economy. The region is one of the largest suppliers of flowers and fresh vegetables to Kolkata and neighboring states. Panskura Vegetable Market, located near the Panskura Junction Railway Station, is one of the largest wholesale vegetable markets in West Bengal. This bustling market operates daily from late evening until early morning, serving as a vital hub for the distribution of fresh produce across the state.

The market plays a crucial role in the livelihoods of numerous individuals involved in agriculture, trade, and logistics, bolstering the local economy.

Vidyasagar Udyan, developed and maintained by the Panskura Municipality, stands as a testament to the town's commitment to providing recreational spaces for its residents.
