🏙️ NULM – Empowering Urban Livelihoods, Building Resilient Communities

What is NULM?

The National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM) is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), aimed at reducing urban poverty and vulnerability by enabling the poor to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities.

Our Municipality actively implements NULM to uplift urban communities through entrepreneurship, skill training, and collective growth—especially by strengthening Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

👥 Empowering Self-Help Groups (SHGs) Through NULM

Self-Help Groups are the heart of community empowerment under NULM. These are small, voluntary groups—primarily of women—that come together to save, build livelihoods, and access credit.

💡 How NULM Helps SHGs Grow & Thrive
